OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Mersin Otoyolu Yatırım ve İşletme A.Ş. (MOİ) is committed to adopting an environmentally sensitive approach throughout the construction and operation of the Çeşmeli – Kızkalesi Motorway Project (CKH). With this policy;

To fully comply with all local, national and international environmental laws and regulations specific to the project in which we operate, and to fulfil all environmental obligations within this framework,
Raising environmental awareness among the local community, neighbouring regions, our employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders with whom we interact directly and indirectly within the scope of the project, emphasising their environmental responsibilities by organising trainings, preferring systems based on the effective use of the environment and natural resources and ensuring their continuity
To minimise the direct and indirect negative impacts on the environment during the construction of the project by using the best technologies; to minimise environmental impacts, especially by controlling factors such as air, water, soil pollution and noise,
To ensure that the wastes that will be generated during the construction processes and motorway operation within the scope of the Project are reduced at source, recycled and their environmental impacts are minimised,
Increasing energy efficiency, reducing the use of natural resources and providing the necessary manpower, technology, infrastructure and financial resources in this direction; taking measures and ensuring sustainable development by setting targets every year
To prepare and implement emergency plans in order to minimise the effects of environmental accidents that may occur during the construction and operation of the Project; to provide support to the local community and the environment after accidents,
To develop projects for long-term environmental goals such as combating climate change and protecting biodiversity and to implement practices to support sustainable development,
To provide training on environmental policy to our employees, subcontractors and project stakeholders and to raise environmental awareness,
To continuously raise environmental standards by cooperating with national and local official institutions, other industrial organisations and suppliers,
To establish an Environmental Management System that provides access to all kinds of data on environmental management and is continuously improved, to ensure sustainable development by increasing our environmental performance.
